Training River

River is an amazing dog.  I have had a lot of fun training her and am looking forward to all those hunts we will share together.  She is very obedient and is so fun to have around.  Our boys completely love her and somehow, with all the tormenting and everything... she loves them right back!  Now that is a good dog.

She is dong great in all those areas... Here is the retrieving training so far.  I am using a duck dummy, not the real thing yet- but we will get there.  If you can't tell, I am very proud of my pup! :)

Here are some pictures of the cool new dog house I built for river.  I am wood burning a sign that will say "The Fly Shop" on it and then "Fly Rod the River Dog" at the bottom.  It will hang over the entrance.  I think that the Dog house turned out very well though!

Duck Season!!!!

Duck season starts early this year as the Boise State Broncos travel to Eugene Oregon Saturday Sept 20th for their show down with the Ducks.  The Oregon Ducks are admittedly our biggest challenge so far this season, and will give the Broncos the chance to once again reach out and grab a little respect.  Since the fairy book ending in the 2007 Fiesta Bowl where BSU downed Oklahoma 43-42 in overtime with their now famous hook and ladder and statue of liberty plays; the Broncos must answer some questions... can the very young team play at the standards that have come to be expected by the Bronco Nation.  Can our new offensive line give the promising red shirt freshman quarterback Kellen Moore the protection he needs, and can the nations fifth strongest rushing attack of Ian Johnson and Jeremy Avery penetrate into the secondary of a strong team such as oregon.  The Broncos have looked good in their first two games of the season against Idaho State and Bowling Green... All I can say is Bring on the Ducks!

"Buster"

Yes, the news is out... We're expecting!!! Baby number 3 is due at the end of April. So it's a ways off-- plenty of time to plan, prepare, and get excited! This little one's code name will be Buster. For those of you who aren't familiar with our tradition, Casey and I give each of our babies pre-birth names to resolve the ongoing problem of calling the baby "it." Since we don't find out the gender of our kids until they're born, it's hard to settle on a name so our general pre-brith names save the day. Kade was Buckwheat, Ethan was Generic (this was Casey's "name" given to him by the nurses in the hospital before he was given a name), and Baby No. 3 is Buster. It's fun for us... so I hope you don't mind playing along. =)
